Bhadgaon or Khwopa the old name of Bhaktapur is an ancient Newar town in the east corner of the Kathmandu Nepal. Bhaktapur The third largest city of kathmandu valley is located in Bhaktapur District in Bagmati Zone about 20 km east of the valley. Bhaktapur was once the capital of Nepal during the great Malla Kingdom until the second half of the 15th century. Bhaktapur is listed as a World Heritage by UNESCO for its rich culture, temples, and wood, metal and stone artwork. Bhaktapur  is world renowned for its elegant art, fabulous culture and indigenous life-style. For its majestic monuments, colorful festivals and the native Newars best known for their generations-old craftsmanship. The ancient city is also variously known as the City of Devotees, “City of Culture”, the “Living Heritage” and “Nepal’s Cultural Capital”.
